The Platform Group launches click&meeting for 3,500 shops

ApoNow GmbH, based in Wetter (Ruhr), operates the Doc.Green ordering platform, which makes over 300,000 over-the-counter medicines and products available to order online from pharmacies with 280 brands. The company was founded in 2014 and is led by Thomas Engels as CEO. The products are ordered exclusively online, and the regional pharmacies receive them for execution as same-day delivery or for on-site collection. Currently, more than 18,500 pharmacies in Germany receive orders from the Doc.Green and ApoNow pharmaceutical service platforms.

“The pharmacy market is undergoing a major transformation: more and more people are ordering online and receiving same-day delivery through us. For this year and next, we will significantly push growth and introduce new tools for pharmacies. The decision to push growth in the future as part of The Platform Group is a great opportunity for our company, especially to expand our corporate strategy,” says Thomas Engels, CEO of the company.

Dr Dominik Benner, founder and CEO of The Platform Group, adds: “ApoNow and Doc.Green were ahead of their time back then: they connected pharmacies when they were not even thinking about online sales. With our entry, we want to reaffirm that we stand up for local commerce and want to digitise the pharmacy sector.”

In addition to the pharmacy platform Doc.Green, ApoNow GmbH operates the tool ApoNow (formerly KlickA) as a service of OTC pharmaceutical manufacturers for local pharmacies, where pharmaceutical manufacturers offer their products on their own landing pages and the pharmacies in the customers’ region receive the order. “This model ensures that pharmacies get something out of the online boom and that manufacturers join forces with pharmacies. Our software guarantees the fast, smooth process and connects manufacturers with pharmacies,” says Silvio Schnabel, Head of Customer Centre at ApoNow GmbH.

The Platform Group now operates platforms in thirteen different branches. A total of 3,700 affiliated dealers and partners are taking part. The company enables partners to use the potential of e-commerce and to sell their products via the company’s e-commerce platforms as well as on third-party marketplaces. There are no fixed costs for traders and partners, only transaction fees. Through self-developed software and expertise in multichannel marketing, traders can set up a functioning e-commerce business with high sales within two weeks.

“With ApoNow GmbH, we have succeeded in entering the pharmacy segment. We will actively promote new software solutions here and the topic of e-prescription is essential,” says Jürgen Hanke, Head of Dealer Support at The Platform Group. A relaunch of Doc.Green is planned for the fourth quarter, and the back-end functions will also be revised and new tools developed for pharmacies. “We are evolving into a platform that digitally engages pharmacies so they can manage their order flow,” says Thomas Engels.

The Platform Group is an e-commerce company that has connected 3,700 partners on 14 platforms. The Platform Group is active with its B2C and B2B platforms in the fashion, sports, footwear, bags, machinery, bicycles, furniture and education sectors, among others.
